Therapy that dives deeper

Understanding where something comes from can be incredibly useful.

Then we can ask: What do we do with what we know?

I work with adults using EMDR, Ego State Therapy, attachment-focused work, and somatic approaches to understand the experiences and patterns that shape us—and find ways to work with them.

Going Deeper

Knowing why isn’t the end of the story.

01

Maybe you understand why you respond a certain way, but the response is still there.

02

Maybe part of you wants one thing while another part wants something completely different.

03

Maybe something that seems unrelated starts to make more sense when you connect it to an earlier experience.

That’s where curiosity becomes useful.

Rather than deciding too quickly what something means—or what needs to change—we can look at it from different angles, notice the connections, and see what emerges.

Sometimes a different perspective gives us a different way forward.

Ways We Can Work Together

Where do we go from here?

Therapy doesn’t have to look the same every session. We can talk, explore, process, get curious, and use different approaches depending on what we’re trying to understand or change.

Here are some of the ways we can approach it together.

01

EMDR Therapy

Our experiences are more than the stories we tell about them.

They can include memories, beliefs, emotions, physical sensations, and connections to other experiences—sometimes in ways we expect and sometimes in ways we don’t.

EMDR gives us another way to explore those pieces and consider the experience as a whole.

Ego State Therapy

A part of me feels one way…but another part of me feels completely different.

Ever said something like that?

Maybe part of you knows exactly what you want while another part hesitates. Part of you understands something logically while another part has a completely different reaction. Or part of you is ready to move forward while another part isn’t so sure.

We naturally experience ourselves from different perspectives. Ego State Therapy gives us a way to get curious about those different parts, understand the experiences that shaped them, and explore what each may be trying to communicate.

Individual Therapy

There’s value in making connections.

Conversation gives us space to slow things down, put experiences into words, recognize patterns, consider different perspectives, and notice things we may not have seen before.

Individual therapy gives us room to explore those things together and decide where we want to go from there.

EMDR Intensives

Months of progress
in hours.

Traditional weekly therapy gives us about fifty minutes at a time. An EMDR Intensive gives us something different: a dedicated block of time built around the work you want to do.

Focused.
Immersive.
Built around you.

An intensive can center on a specific experience, a recurring pattern, a relationship, a belief about yourself, or something you’re preparing for in the future.

What I Specialize In

Our experiences are connected.

Trauma, attachment, and grief don’t always exist in separate parts of our lives.

A single experience—or a collection of experiences over time—can shape beliefs, expectations, and responses in ways we may not immediately recognize.

Part our work is understanding how those experiences relate to one another.

01

Trauma &
Complex Trauma

We can work with individual experiences as well as experiences that happened repeatedly or developed over longer periods of time—exploring what happened, what you learned from it, and how it continues to influence the present.

02

Childhood Experiences
& Attachment

Our earliest relationships give us some of our first experiences of connection, trust, belonging, and what to expect from other people. Therapy gives us a place to explore those experiences and the perspectives we developed along the way.

03

Grief & Loss

Loss can change our relationship with the past, the present, and what we imagined for the future. We can make room for the experiences surrounding a loss while also exploring the meaning, memories, relationships, and connection that remain.

Meet Carlos

A little about who you’ll be working with.

I’m Carlos.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, EMDR Certified Therapist, and EMDRIA Consultant-in-Training.

I’m also a husband and a dad. I enjoy a good audiobook, spending time with my family, cooking, working out, and consider myself an amateur at-home barista.

My clients describe me as a direct, empathetic, and easy to talk to. I offer a different perspective, challenge in ways that encourage growth, and sprinkle in some humor along the way.

For EMDR Clinicians

Another perspective
on the case.

I provide EMDR consultation for clinicians who want a place to think through complex cases, sharpen conceptualization, and feel more confident about where to go next.

We can explore complex trauma and attachment, target selection, integrating Ego State Therapy, or those moments when sessions take an unexpected turn.

My approach to consultation is collaborative and curious. We’ll look at the case from different angles, make sense of what may be happening, and consider the possibilities for moving forward.

As an EMDRIA Consultant-in-Training, I can also provide eligible consultation hours toward EMDRIA Certification.

Let’s Connect

Let’s start with
a conversation.

Tell me a little about what brings you here and what you’re hoping to get from therapy.

I’ll tell you more about how I work, answer your questions, and we can talk about what working together might look like.

Then we’ll decide where to go from there.
